Pēterezers Nature Path

Nature Path of Pēterezers (3.4 km) lies at the road between Dundaga and Mazirbe. The path crosses long linear dunes (kangari) that alternate with narrow, marshy depressions (vigas). Kangari are covered with dry pine forests but vigas are dominated by fens. In one of the widest vigas lie lakes Lielais Pēterezers and Mazais Pēterezers. Along the banks of the lakes grows a specially protected plant species characteristic only to the coastline of Kurzeme -- Bog Myrtle Myrica gale. In the viga of Pēterezers 25 specially protected plant species can be found.

A short stretch of the path crosses narrow-gauge railway embankment. This railway was important for traffic between Ventspils, Mazirbe and Dundaga.
